Color-Changing DIY Mushrooms
Video Tutorial
I'm on a quest to create quick and simple DIY projects for kids that teach electronics and creativity. These glowing mushrooms are perfectly combining both elements!
I’ve invented three circuits suitable for different ages and time frames, with the easiest one taking just a few minutes! The mushrooms fade through all colors, creating a mesmerizing display. With a group of kids, you can turn any room into a magical fairy tale garden.
I use special LEDs that change colors, but any LED will work!
Facts about the Project:
Recommended age: 7 years and older
Skill level electronics: easy
Skill level paper crafting: easy
Time needed: 3-20 minutes
Estimated costs per project: about 2 Euro or Dollar

And much more!
Make a Light Sculpture
With my color changing LEDs, multiple mushrooms will quickly become a magical, soothing experience. Remember, you can easily vary the shape and size of the mushrooms! I made this light sculpture using a paper model of a tree.
If you want to make this sculpture (not recommended for kids), you can download my 3D model, the Pepakura file and the templates here.
Hints: If you print the templates, open the Pepakura file (free software) to check which part of the template belongs to which part of the tree sculpture. When wiring everything inside the tree, be sure to insulate everything to avoid short circuits.
